You may need to click on the "can't see the video?" link to make it happen. It's a couple of videos of the band at Whitby last weekend, shot by the promoters to go on their website. We have some live tracks for a new album from that session, as they were recording 16 track audio too! See the CDs & Music page for more details.

PA hire

A quick plug - we have been made aware of a dire shortage of small PA hire availability, here in the North East. If you want to take advantage of our very high quality, reasonably priced service - for DJ sets for up to 150 people / bands for small venues / conferences etc. please see our PA hire page.

Newcastle based, in 1986 The Burglars released an album (“Whoopin’”) on the legendary Red Lightnin’ label and swiftly became known as a band to be reckoned with, due to the huge critical acclaim that accompanied the release.

The return of original guitarist John Whitehill to his native North East after 15 years with Paul Lamb and the Kingsnakes, was the catalyst for the band performing a 'one off' New Year's day gig. Fortunately for blues fans up and down the country, this was so well received that they have reformed!

The Blues Burglars are:
Billy Sharp: vocals
John Whitehill: guitar
P.J. White: bass
Ed Bowman: drums
Martin Fletcher: harmonica

Critical acclaim continued to build for the band. Following an excellent review in influential blues publication 'Blues Matters!' the latest issue of 'blues in britain' features an interview, and this from the editorial: "Outstanding guitarist, Johnny Whitehill, left The Kingsnakes to return to the North East and the original Burglars line-up got back together, with Martin Fletcher taking on harp duties... take the opportunity to see them when they come your way."
